Here at Pound Hounds Rescue we're all about the "Poundies". We work together with Council Animal Control teams in the North Island, to find homes for the increasing number of dogs relinquished to Animal Control. The dogs we bring into our care are solely Pound dogs. We bring these dogs into foster homes where they are cared for, desexed, vaccinated and receive whatever they need, whilst being placed up for adoption to find their forever homes.

Our other passion is our No Parvo No Puppies Community Program. Through this program we provide free Parvo vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and microchipping at our community clinics to those that need our help. Along with this we also offer entry into our low cost desexing program.

Pound Hounds Rescue is a 100% volunteer run, non profit organisation. We are an incorporated Charitable Trust and are also a registered charity. Our charity number is CC54622 .

It is thanks to the community support we receive from fundraising, donations and volunteers that we are able to take in and care for our "Poundies".

All dogs rescued by Pound Hounds Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, registered with Council, health checked and flea and worm treated, then placed into temporary foster care until permanent loving and responsible homes can be found.
